MONTHLY GOALS : July

JUNE GOALS :

  • Start “The Real Girls Guide to TAKING IT ALL OFF” by Stephanie May Wilson.
I am very excited about this! I have been wanting to invest a deeper little into friendships, so when this course came up I was all in. We start in about 2 weeks and I can’t wait to see all that the Lord will do!
We have had such a great start! I am loving all the girls in our group and the conversations have been wonderful. We have a little dinner planned this week for our halfway point and I am looking forward to just enjoying everyone’s company!
  • Work on new product.
Still a secret. Still in the works! I am hoping to have this for August, but it will be some tedious work and will rely on my designer/sis who is in the middle of finishing up her book “the Finishing School”! So we shall see how long till we can make it available. My goal this month is to get all my part done, so when she’s ready she can take it and run!
Wahoo! I got my part done. I have decided to do things a little differently that will take some more time, but I plan to do a launch around November with the new stuff :)
  • Read “the Meaning of Marriage”.
I mentioned that I picked up another book and this was it! It seems to be a favorite among book readers on marriage, so I decided to grab it. I am only 30 pages in and I am getting so much out of it already. It has already flipped the tables on how our culture sees marriage, and you know I love when God’s truths shake up my perspective.
On page 170 of 240! Leaving this on for next month.
  • Blog Once a Week.
Same reason for doing the E-course! I have so much to share, but as a golden it’s not the most natural thing for me to be super disciplined. Y’alls feedback on the last few posts have been so encouraging. I think I teared up when some said “Keep writing!” because it made me feel like my words were really encouraging others :)
I managed to blog 3 times in the month, so not terrible, but not once a week either! I have recently scheduled out my blog posts for the month, so hopefully I can do better this month .
  • Workout 2x a Week.
This has to be my month!!!!! Lol! Doing it!
Finally! Lol. Now lets just keep this little streak going.
  • Do 1 Adventurous thing a Week.
As a homebody, I tend to default to staying in or saying no to things, but I want this to be the summer of adventure! Deep down I have an adventurous spirit and I find that the more I say “yes” to exploring & adventuring the easier it is! Now… this will probably look a little different every week and may only be something like going to a late night movie (I love to go to bed early) or it could be to take a drive out of town and go hiking. Whatever it is, I want to celebrate summer and have fun this month!
Happy to cross this one off the list! Stepping out of our little comfortable zone is so necessary sometimes. It  stretches us and grows us. I took a trip to Houston, went to a late nite movie, late nite frozen yogurt, took a brazillian butt class, and a pound class (with the drum sticks!).
  • Take Vitamins Daily.
I am elderly if you didn’t know… or atleast my joints make me feel like I am. It has been a pretty constant thing lately and as soon as my knees feel better, my back starts to hurt and I have to go get massage (ok… that’s not so bad). But it has been CONSTANT! So when my mom got hooked on this Melaleuca kick she bought me some vitamins specifically for muscles and joints. Well not only does she buy my vitamins, but she also has to remind me to take them, and I’m pretty much a toddler when it comes to taking vitamins. I don’t wanna. But I do want to feel good again so take them I will!
I did pretty good with this… like 70%. Honestly I do think the Melaleuca stuff is helping my joints! We will see how it goes as I continue to take them. Also, does anyone know where I can get a cute little weekly pill container??? I think if they were all separated and ready for me to take, I would be even better about it!
  • Pray for 15min Daily.
Val challenged us to do this for the month and I decided to say yes! One thing I am praying about for June is whether the Lord is calling me to write another devotional, this time on relationships. I have had some of my sweet Wholehearted Ladies, who now find themselves in relationships, ask if I would be writing one and I mean I have been dating for about 8 months so I am pretty much a pro, right???? No… actually not so much!  But I figured I should pray about it and see what He says. There is no point to writing something if the Lord does not call me to it so I don’t want to just write it to have a follow-up. I know the only reason that “Wholeheartedly” has touched the hearts that it has, is because the Holy Spirit was so it. So pray for me if you think about it!
Major Fail :(  I prayed less than I normally do! Leaving this on (with modifications) to next month!

JULY GOALS :

  • Finish Luke.
I started reading the Bible all the way through almost 2 years ago and slowed down when I got to the Gospels so I could study and journal them. Along the way other things popped up to read and I got way off track, so I want to get back on track and continue reading through the Bible!
  • Finish the Meaning of Marriage & Make Notes.
In case you haven’t noticed by the first 2 goals, I am a chronic starter, but not a finisher! Which is why posting these goals is such  great thing for me. I am seriously loving this book so far and it has already helped changed my mindset on some things even in dating relationships and spurred on changes in my actions. I have 70 Pages left to read and I am also adding to that, to make notes from this book, so I can go over the main points and really let them sink in deep!
  • Purposefully Do 1 Thing a Week for Someone in their Love Language.
Going along with what I have learned in that book above! The love languages aren’t anything new, but I am realizing how much love is lacking in relationships & friendships when we aren’t intentionally seeking to show someone their type of love. I want to make a point this week to show someone I love them in the way they need to hear it… not the way that is easiest to show it!
  • No TV Monday – Thursday.
You may have seen this one coming. Lol. I have been binging on Netflix way too much and I am ready for another fast. There are so many things I want to do, books I want to read, and people I want to see and watching TV has no value! I KNOW this, but it is so hard to choose not to watch sometimes, because it is easier and it always feels like it will relax me! Or atleast that is what I tell myself. But then I regret that and I think about where I would be in a month if I replaced that activity with something else.
  • 10 Minute Tidy Before Bed
Y’all, I absolutely hate when my apartment gets messy. It kind of stresses me out, then I usually wait till its such a big chore that I just keep putting it off. I am hoping that if I spend a little time each night tidying up, I won’t have to take an entire Saturday to hang up that huge pile of clothes in my bedroom!
  • Use Fitbook Daily.
Have you guys seen these?! It is a cute little food & exercise journal. I got one for Christmas and can you believe, I am just now starting it. The plan is to schedule out my week, food and exercise and then hopefully stick to it :)
  • Pray Daily.
Since this was a bust last month when I had the goal for 15 minutes, I am just going to have the goal to pray daily! I found that a lot of times because I didn’t have 15 minutes to pray, then I wouldn’t pray at all! So my goal is to carry around my prayer journal this month so it will remind me and so I will find little pockets of time to pray!

This month is pretty much about get back to the basics and limiting distractions for me! I want to make decisions now, that will benefit me next week and next year, from the health of my body to the health of my relationships with God and with others. What are some of your goals for this month??? How you are being intentional with your time?
