MONTHLY GOALS : March

FEBRUARY RECAP :

Buy thoughtful hostess gifts
My sister, with the help of some of my besties are throwing me a bridal shower this month! I am so appreciative of the hardwork and thoughtfulness they are putting in and it makes me feel so loved. Check out this sneak peak Val posted!
I also have a few ladies from our neighborhood planning a Prayer Shower for me! I have never been to one of these, so I am thrilled to get to be apart. My only job for the shower has been to send in prayers for our relationship and making this list was such a great thing to do. I will share about the showers and the prayers soon!

Combine financial accounts & Prepare budget
Such a big step for us as we get closer to being married! I am excited (and nervous) to be working on this with Josh. As someone who has been single and doing things on my own for a while, I’m sure this will be a pretty big adjustment. Say some prayers for us! Lol!

• Read Financial Stewardship & Driven by Eternity
My 2 books for this month! Hoping to gain some insight into how finances and our spiritual lives connect ass we decide on our new budget and plan for the future, as well as learn about heaven and what our lives on earth mean for eternity.

Start X-tend Barre
I feel like this has been on my list since I purchased the Groupon in October! I started the month and am really loving this form of exercise. It is so effective and I am already seeing a difference.

Prepare my taxes
Ughhhhhh…..I am dreading this! Not a fun goal at all, but necessary!

Pre-Marital Counseling
We are so pumped to be able to go through pre-marital counseling with our pastor. I have learned so much from him over years about my Christian walk and about marriage, that I just know this experience will be so fruitful as well.

MARCH GOALS :

• Work through Marriage Field Guide with Josh
I always thought Val’s Marriage Field Guide was a cool idea and planned to use it when I got married, but I never realized how beneficial it was until recently! As I flipped through it the other day I realized that most of the topics and exercises were things that already came up (and maybe caused some tension) or they were things that our Pastor brought up in marriage counseling! Either way I am very much looking forward to use the guide to steer some fruitful conversations with Josh! (Side Note : I loved the design of the field guides so much that we picked those 2 colors for our Save the Date and Wedding Invitation envelopes!)

• De-clutter Apartment
Clutter makes me nuts! And with all the stress and to-dos I have, I know that a blank slate will help to ease some of that stress. The good thing is that I won’t be moving out my stuff until after we get back from the honeymoon next month, but I would like to get rid of as much stuff as possible, so that the move is a little easier. Anyone know of a good blogpost or cliff notes version of “The Magic of Tidying Up” ?!?!

Read Power of a Praying Wife & Sheet Music
The next 2 books of my 2016 Reading List! With the wedding in 35 days, I decided to focus this month on preparing for the role of wife.

• Set up Office
I could not be more thrilled to have a separate room for me to set up an office in the house! I’d like to get this stuff moved this month, so I don’t lose anytime or need to shut down the shop. I definitely recognize that sometimes when you gals find the Wholeheartedly Devotional, you really need that encouragement quick, so I want to be able to deliver!

Read 5 Books of the Bible
My goal is to finish reading through the Bible by August 1st! I started reading through a few years ago and slowed down to a crawl when I got to the Gospels, so I could study them in more depth. I’m going through a little quicker since I started journaling in my Bible as opposed to journaling in a notebook and to stay on track I need to finish Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, & 1 Timothy.

• Meet with Financial Advisor
This is a part of our marriage counseling and I am so grateful. Josh and I have such different money personalities (he’s the spender, I’m the saver), so I know that this will be a work in progress and something we need to work through and figure out. I’m looking forward to having another person weigh in on how we are doing things!

• Get Off Instagram for 1 Day a Week
Y’all….. I know I don’t have to explain how much time I waste on social media in general to you guys. But it is such time sucker for me and in an effort to be my most productive self and try to break the habit, I want to give my self a break at least 1x a week. I have done it once already and it was hard, but it really felt freeing. Do any of you do social media free days or weekends?
